Here at the Afiya Way Tours and Adventures we strive to provide you with a once in a life time experience in the ‘Heart of Africa’.
We are a small and passionate company, and we use this to our advantage making sure that you fully enjoy one of our standard packages or that we tailor a tour to meet your specific travel needs.
The Afiya Way was set up with one simple goal in mind to share the unique and beautiful country of Rwanda with the world and in the process change the perception of Rwanda. We want our guests to see what a beautiful and peaceful country Rwanda is and that it has an inspirational and aspirational future.
Although Rwanda is our focus, we operate many tours in the near by countries of East Africa such as Uganda, Burundi, and the Congo.
About Sam
Our head tour guide and Co-founder Gasana Sam has spent his whole life living in East Africa, specifically Rwanda and Uganda and truly is the heart and soul of the Afiya Way. With more than ten years experience working in the industry Sam has organized and led tours all over East Africa. Sam speaks English and French fluently as well as many otherEast African local language. Sam loves the opportunity to meet new people and learn about their culture. He is truly passionate about East Africa and wants to share this passion with the rest of the world and especially to show off his remarkable home country, Rwanda.

Rwanda has had a well-publicized troubled past. However, Rwanda’s ability to rebuild and transform itself over the last 20 years is a testament to its people and communities. It is called the land of a thousand hills and smiles for a reason. On all our tours we incorporate local communities, businesses and tourism providers, to contribute to a healthy and competitive tourism and hospitality industry.
Sustainable Travels :
The unique and beautiful environment is the heart and soul of African and in particular Rwandan Culture. It has played a major role in the development of Rwanda and its blossoming tourism industry. Going forward the protection of areas such as the volcanoes, Nyungwe, and Akagera national parks needs to be prioritized so that they remain for future generations of travellers and the Rwandan people to enjoy and treasure.
